WINES, ADVENTURE MOTORCYCLING, SURFING, AND HIGH-ALTITUDE MOUNTAINEERING ALLOW ME TO EXPLORE THE WORLD AND EMBRACE THE RICHNESS OF DIFFERENT CULTURES.

It all starts with a dream. Maybe you want to buy a boat and sail the seven seas. Or perhaps you’re eager to outfit your vehicle and hit the open road like Drew Simms or Amélise Burr.

If your passion is wine and you’re dreaming of hitting the jackpot to start your own winery, hold off. Without a solid plan, you might find yourself broke or swimming in a pool of unsold wine.

To build a financially sound winery, you need both production expertise and commercial know-how. And be prepared to spend at least 150 days a year on the road—whether in the U.S. or abroad—just to begin establishing your brand.

I once served as the Commercial Director for Chile’s largest family-owned wine estate, leading a team that exported 4.5 million gallons (16 million liters) of wine annually. It was an exciting role, but over time, it became unfulfilling and overwhelmingly time-consuming. One day, it just stopped making sense.

If you want to hear more about my turning point, tune in to episode #1 of my podcast, "I QUIT MY JOB. NOW WHAT?, where I share the story of how I decided to travel the world full-time with my son on our motorcycle + sidecar.

“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the high road to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction.” - Margaret Thatcher

These days, I’m a winegrower and author, finding balance by doing what truly enriches my soul and pushes my limits.

Now, I have the ultimate riding machine, allowing me to continue exploring the world while spending more time with my son, discovering exceptional wines, catching sunsets on a surfboard, learning about new cultures, writing more books, meeting incredible people, and climb the highest mountains.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet VICTORIA. She’s my beautiful BMW GS Adventure 1200 + sidecar, crafted by my friend Ad Donkers at LBS Sidecars in Holland.

Having a sidecar permanently attached to your bike is a significant commitment, both financially and technically. There are pros and cons, so before you consider building a rig like mine, I recommend checking out my YouTube channel, where I’ll guide you through the entire process.

The name VICTORIA is a tribute to Hernando de Magallanes (Ferdinand Magellan) and Sebastián Elcano’s legendary expedition (1519-1522) to the East Indies across the Pacific Ocean. VICTORIA was the first ship to successfully complete the circumnavigation of the world—an inspiration for my own journey of exploration.
