“IT HAS BEEN FOUND AGAIN! WHAT? ETERNITY. IT IS THE SEA MINGLED WITH THE SUN.” ARTHUR RIMBAUD

Pintor peaks at 4,200 meters of altitude.

It’s a one-day trek and very popular during the Summer (Dec - Feb). Although, touristy; many climbers suffer from dehydration.

This is a good mountain to acclimatize before you attempt Leonera (5,000 mts) or Plomo (5,454 mts.).

It’s common to see climbers suffer from dehydration, specially tourists from Europe and the US, who are not used to such a dry and hot mountain conditions. Plus, they’re coming from their winter season.

Nevertheless, this is an easy trek but is long and very steep in some areas. So, bring the right footwear with Vibram sole, plenty of SPF 50 sunscreen and sunglasses category 3 or 4.

Also have wind layers and at least 3 liters of water, chocolate bars, gummy bears and energy gels. Stay away from power bars because at high altitude they may cause you a stomach ache or an unease descend.
